Chapel of Panagia Faneromeni

Chapel of Panagia Faneromeni

Right on the seashore near Nea Skioni stands the centuries-old chapel of Panagia Faneromeni. Dating back to the 16th century, this white-washed chapel is built right at the water’s edge and has a lot of cultural and religious heritage significance in Kassandra. Inside, visitors can view preserved 16th-century post-Byzantine frescoes of sacred scenes and a marble icon that is venerated in local tradition.

The church grounds are on an open coast, with the sea coming up against the stone foundation walls. It’s situated on the shore, so it’s popular for late afternoon walks when the sun sets and there are unobstructed views across the Aegean Sea. The chapel is nestled in a peaceful natural environment that provides a beautiful setting for photography and a peaceful retreat by the water.

Panagia Faneromeni is located only two kilometers away from Nea Skioni village. It is very close to Stella Meri Studios, which can be reached in 5 minutes drive or in a short walk through the coastal road. Its close proximity means that guests can easily pop in at any time of day to explore the historical chapel and enjoy the surrounding seascape.

Distance from Stella Meri Studios: Just a stone’s throw away—only 7 minutes.
